Vaginal dryness during menopause is a natural phenomenon that every woman has to pass through. About 80% women experience this problem when menopause approaches. However, vaginal dryness during sex, before a woman reaches menopause, is something that concerns more and needs special care and attention. The intimate moments in bed with a male partner become painful if the woman suffers from lack of lubrication. It hurts both of the partners.

Hormonal imbalance is the culprit in most of the times when a woman experiences dryness during her close moments with a male partner. Its cure is not difficult as there are many remedies available to balance hormone levels. Let us see this matter more closely.

One of the most common reasons for the vaginal dryness during sex is inadequate foreplay. Many women need more stimulation to reach to a proper arousal stage that ensures good lubrication and makes things comfortable and enjoyable for both of them. If he spends good time in foreplay, and use good stimulating techniques, the results will be much encouraging and pleasant for both of them.

Some drugs can cause the dryness. Drugs like tranquilizers, nicotine, thaizides, narcotics, sedatives and alcohol are in the list of drugs that lower the amount of lubrication.

Women having sex after a long time, or having infrequent intercourses, experience lack of lubrication during the act. This can simply solved if the male partner wisely engages her into good foreplay and use techniques to stimulate her properly. This usually makes the lubrication to return to normal.

As women age, they take time to get enough lubrication. This is natural, and can easily be controlled.

Changes in estrogen levels in the body affect at vaginal mucosa, this has some influence on the lubrication. When estrogen levels are maintained adequate lubrication will be the result.

Some women suffer from pelvic pain during the . Some experience tightness of the vagina. All these reasons make them fear the act and, obviously, the arousal state will be lower and that results in lack of lubrication.

Because of loss of libido, a woman will not arouse properly. This results in lack of secretion, causing dryness during the intimate activity.

Smoking also found responsible for lowering the amount of lubrication. Once given up, the symptoms definitely improve.

Frustration is another important factor for a woman to experience the dryness. When the male fails to perform satisfactorily, woman gets frustrated with the act and fails to wet adequately. Premature ejaculation or other male dysfunctions are the responsible factors.

Soon after the childbirth and lactation is also a cause of dryness during the act since the estrogen balance gets disturbed during this period.

Vaginal dryness during sex can also be caused by other factors like, neurological diseases, spinal cord injuries, the use of spermicidal jellies, latex condoms, and medicated douches.
